This week, we saw what courage in the face of authoritarianism looks like.

Harvard University is under attack by the Trump White House—targeted for refusing to cave to political pressure and ideological censorship. Trump’s administration demanded faculty lists, pressured the university to silence voices they didn’t like, and tried to control what students could learn and who could teach it.

Harvard said no.

Trump then threatened to end $2 billion in federal funding unless Harvard bowed to him.

They still said no.

In the words of one university official:

“We don’t work for the White House. We work for our students."

We believe this moment is about more than one university. It’s about all of us standing together to defend academic freedom and the truth in the face of extremism and censorship.
