Donald Trump just crossed another dangerous line.

He’s demanding that the FCC investigate and fine CBS News and 60 Minutes – all because they aired a segment he didn’t like. A story featuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky set him off, and now he wants to use the government to punish journalists for doing their jobs.

This is what authoritarianism looks like. When Trump doesn’t like the truth, he tries to silence it.

And it’s part of a much larger pattern: Trump has gone after voters, marginalized communities, independent agencies, universities, the arts, even foreign allies – and now, the free press.
