John,

The EPA is supposed to protect us — not polluters.

Under Trump’s latest scheme, the EPA quietly gave 47 coal-fired power plants exemptions from mercury and toxic emissions limits that were enacted under the Biden administration. These exemptions included all nine of the nation’s biggest mercury polluters.

Mercury is a brain-damaging neurotoxin.

These aren’t just harmless emissions — they’re deadly pollutants that poison our water, cause irreparable damage to our children’s brains, and sicken entire communities.

Trump’s reasoning is “national security.” He’s using a dusty provision in the Clean Air Act to throw a lifeline to the coal industry and delay mercury regulation for another two years — but the implications of the pollutants would be devastating to public health.

Let’s be clear: the EPA is asleep at the wheel. While they snooze, our communities are being poisoned. We’re working to hold the EPA accountable and uplift leaders who will say no to corporate polluters and yes to public health.

Will you go the extra mile to help us fight back? We won’t stand by while Trump puts his dirty energy agenda into motion. [[link removed]]
