Dear John,
It’s our deadline for Black Maternal Health Week, and we wanted to express our deep gratitude for your support as funding for critical programs gets cut.
Your renewed gift will support Start Early’s doula and home visitor programs in under-resourced communities.
Your gift makes an impact:
-
$20 – Provides an hour of literacy support for a family in an under-resourced community
-
$50 – Provides a home visit for a family to ensure they have the support and resources they need
-
$65 – Provides a doula visit for a pregnant woman to help ensure a healthy transition to motherhood
-
$190 – Provides a child with a day of quality early learning through our Educare program
Despite our remarkable medical advancements, Black women are still 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women. Even more devastating, 80% of these deaths are preventable.
Tamara’s story of a young Black mother being “terrified of babies” who is now strong, healthy and confident shows you the power doulas and home visitors can make. We’re giving Black mothers the champions and advocates they need to thrive in medical settings where they're too often dismissed.
But with recent funding cuts to maternal health services, your support has never been more crucial. |
We're just $1,895 away from our $5,000 goal, and the clock is ticking for countless Black mothers facing these unacceptable odds every day.
John, will you renew and make a gift today and help provide doulas and home visitors to Black women and their families facing long odds?
With gratitude and urgency,
Start Early
P.S. Today, a Black mother will die from preventable causes. Your renewal gift helps provide doulas and home visitors so that tomorrow, we can save lives.
