I'm proud that Giffords PAC has endorsed Dick Durbin for re-election. Dick is a proven champion on gun safety and we must help send him back to the U.S. Senate in 2020.
If we want to see our gun laws change, we need to flip the Senate. That includes holding onto Illinois and re-electing Dick Durbin, a tireless ally in the fight to make our communities safer from gun violence.
Dick Durbin has been fighting for commonsense gun reforms even before they were at the forefront of public conversation. Early on in his time in Congress, he voted to require background checks at gun shows and against prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers.
Recently, Dick has been outspoken about funding gun violence research and expanding background checks.
He is an invaluable partner in the fight for gun safety, and his experience will only be more essential when a new gun safety majority is elected to join him in the Senate this year.
