John, it's Hank Johnson.
A few days ago, I sat down with small-business owners from across the district to hear about how Trump's policies are impacting them—many in the room said the tariffs might just put them out of business.
This isn't the first time Trump tariffs caused small businesses to close their doors, but if you don't have time to hear about the crisis that follows, would you consider chipping in to support an advocate for small businesses in Congress? >>
During the first Trump term, many of these folks watched as their businesses were pushed to the brink of closure (and their neighbors completely cut out of the market) because of unbelievable markups on imported goods that we just don't have the production infrastructure for. It didn't make sense for Americans then, and it doesn't make sense for Americans now.
But for Trump, chaos and confusion is the point.
He's crippling our economy so that he and his billionaire friends can swoop in and buy businesses and real estate for cheap.
He's crippling the integrity of our judicial system so that he can concentrate power for himself in the White House and relieve himself of all accountability to the American people.
He's crippling the trust in our government so he can destroy our Democracy out in the open.
I'm not going to just allow that to happen, John—I'm willing to put my life on the line to stop it.
If we are able to have free and fair elections in 2026, Congress desperately needs more folks that are ready to make good trouble and sacrifice for the greater good—and candidates across the country are linking arms with me for the cause.
Today, if you can spare $10 or $15, would you make a contribution to support Democrats fighting against Trump's chaos?

Hank Johnson
