John,
On the heels of a presidential election where 100 billionaire families spent a record $2.6 billion to influence the outcome and buy political power,[1] congressional Republicans are seeking to take even more power away from everyday people.
If you changed your name, don't have a passport, or can't easily jump through red tape, the Republican SAVE Act will make it harder for you to vote.
Click here to take action today and demand the Senate REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act.
The SAVE Act would require proof of citizenship when registering to vote or updating your voter registration. The problem is that millions of Americans don’t have easy access to the documents they’re demanding.
Sixty-nine million women in the U.S. don’t have a birth certificate with their legal name on it.[2] And less than half of Americans have a passport.[3] Getting or replacing these documents costs money, a new kind of “poll tax” blocking working people from voting.
The SAVE Act also paves the way for sweeping voter roll purges based on outdated or incorrect data, putting millions of legally registered voters at risk of losing their right to vote.
This voter suppression bill passed the House of Representatives last week on a party-line vote. Now it goes to the Senate where we have a chance to stop it.
Add your name now to join Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund and our allies in demanding the Senate REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act.
At a time when the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, is spending hundreds of millions of dollars to buy political power, we need to put the power back in the hands of the people. That starts with defending our right to vote.
Thank you for taking action today,
