I want to be clear about what’s happening with Medicare right now.

Falling in line with Senate Republicans, House Republicans passed Donald Trump’s budget resolution, which gets them one step closer to gutting Medicaid so that they can give more tax cuts to the wealthiest people on the planet. 

The budget plan calls for trillions of dollars in cuts, which simply cannot be done without kicking more than 70 million people off of their health care. It would be devastating for working families. For Children. For people with disabilities. For seniors. For pregnant women. For rural hospitals. 

The only people who would benefit from these cuts are billionaires like Elon Musk. And that’s by design -- because this isn’t about governing anymore. It’s about cult-like loyalty and a relentless drive to make the rich richer on the back of every day Americans. 

We don’t control the Senate, but we do have tools. Public objections, raising awareness -- these are levers we can pull to slow their agenda down.
