2024 was
a big year in politics. Any presidential
year is a big year in politics, but last year felt particularly
momentous.
It was
also, in many ways, bizarre and absurd.
There
were no real primaries. But there were assassination attempts,
intraparty defections, and a candidate who dropped out after a
disastrous debate performance. It was an election season that
highlighted how dysfunctional our system has become.
Political
parties are people who work together to get candidates who reflect
their values elected. If you’re on this list, you know that the legacy
parties are no longer doing this in a way that represents
you.
In the
last two years, the Forward Party has grown rapidly, thanks to support
from people like you. We've:
- Gained
ballot access in 4 states, and partial access in 4 more
- Elected
52 Forward candidates or Forward affiliated candidates to
office
- Organized 27 state level groups with full executive
committees
- Last month, website signups increased by
400% - people are tired of politics as usual
2025 is
an off-cycle year, without any federal races drawing focus, so it’s a
chance to lean into party building. We are building out leadership
teams at the state and county level. We’re working to recruit good
candidates in key districts. We’re engaging in polling to better
understand you, our membership, and what issues you care most deeply
about.
All of
this takes money. We don’t send out many email solicitations, but
we’re sending one out today so we can start to make the investments we
need to lean into our party building efforts this year.
Americans
no longer feel the legacy parties represent them. We are all,
together, building a party that can do a better job listening to our
members and delivering solutions that make the American dream a
reality for more of us.
