Introducing Our 2025 Pre-Law Fund Recipients!

Hello John,

I am thrilled to introduce the new cohort of Pre-Law Fund recipients for 2025! This year’s recipients will receive financial assistance, technical support for their law school applications, and access to Immigrants Rising’s network of legal professionals to prepare them for the next steps in their journey to law school.

As an immigrant and daughter of a single mother, Betzabeth’s (she/her) experiences without typical support systems shaped her aspiration to pursue law. She is currently a student at the University of North Texas at Dallas.

Cecile (she/her) is a poet, public speaker, and children’s books writer based in New York. She is passionate about how policies are weaponized against the poor and plans to pursue public interest law.

Daniela (she/her) received her bachelor’s in political science from Florida International University where she founded the Here to Dream Organization. She aspires to further her passion for human rights and migrant advocacy.

Eva* (she/her) recently earned her degree from UCLA and has worked in nonprofit spaces as a mentor, advocate, and program support. She also creates social media content catered to first-generation students.

Natch (they/he) hails from San Diego where he learned advocacy early on and became a leader in community college and his local community. Now, he supports law students, migrants, and LGBTQ+ individuals in the SF Bay Area.

Ingrid (she/her) earned her B.A. in Anthropology from Brandeis University, where she learned how various world cultures and societies are interconnected. She is passionate about education, language acquisition, law, and advocacy.

Lesly (she/her) is a senior at Pomona College and an advocate within CHIRLA’s California Dream Network. She promotes more equitable legislation for immigrants and organizes informational sessions about immigrant rights in her community.

Manali (she/her) received her bachelor’s from UCLA and has worked in various law firms, nonprofits, and advocacy initiatives that expand immigrant protections. She is an aspiring attorney committed to immigrant justice and community-led change.

Min (she/her) is a 1.5-generation Korean American from Southern California. In undergrad, she learned how to seek help and serve her communities. She currently works as a client advocate at a personal injury law firm.

Yesui (she/her) is a senior at UC Santa Cruz where she researches Soviet legal influence in Mongolia and childcare policies in Japan and works on initiatives that support women’s rights and family law reform.

We are excited to follow their journeys as they strive to transform their communities through a career in law.
