Should Communist China be Banned from Buying U.S. Farmland?

Dear Fellow Iowan,

For years, the Chinese Communist Party has shown increasing hostility toward the United States. From stealing billions in intellectual property to launching cyberattacks on our government agencies, their actions continue to threaten our national security. Now, we are seeing an alarming trend of China purchasing farmland near U.S. military bases.

This kind of aggression cannot be ignored. China is, without question, one of our greatest threats today. As a member of Congress, I believe it is our duty to take decisive action to protect our country. That includes taking the necessary steps to prevent foreign adversaries like China from owning U.S. farmland, particularly in close proximity to our military installations.
