Campaign Leaders Underscore Nurses' Role with Family Caregivers
The Online Journal in Nursing's January 2020 issue features an article by the Center to Champion Nursing in America&rsquo;s Susan Reinhard, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Andrea Brassard, PhD, FNP-BC, FAAN, addressing nursing's role in helping the nation's family caregivers provide an estimated 34 billion hours of unpaid and often complex care to adults with chronic or serious health conditions.

COVID-19 Policy Shifts Improve Access for Older Adults
COVID-19 sparked hundreds of new laws, mostly temporary, affecting the health care workforce. In an article in the recent issue of the Journal of Gerontological Nursing, representatives from the Campaign for Action explore the state and federal responses to changes in the nursing workforce and how these changes should affect the care for older adults.

New - Complete Survey to Assess APRN Practice Barriers During COVID-19
All advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are invited to participate in a 10-15 minute national survey conducted by nurse researchers from Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, and the University of Tennessee regarding the impact of COVID-19 on APRN practice, roles, and patient care.

Community Preventive Services Task Force Seeks New Members
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is soliciting nominations for public health and prevention professionals who are interested and may be qualified to serve on the Community Preventive Services Task Force. Appointed by the CDC director, each member serves a five-year term on the independent panel of experts. Applications are due on Friday, June 26 on or before 5 p.m. ET.
