At the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, we wake up every day with the same goal: making our communities safer for everyone.

That means fighting for smart, commonsense policies that keep firearms out of the wrong hands. It means closing dangerous loopholes, restricting access to assault weapons, instituting more rigorous background checks and safety training, and standing up to the gun lobby.

We’ve made real progress in Washington. Our state has passed some of the strongest gun responsibility laws in the country. But as long as lives are still being lost to senseless and preventable gun violence, our work is not over.

The gun lobby is well-funded and relentless. They will keep trying to roll back all of the progress we have made, putting their own profits above human lives — and they’re counting on us to get tired, to slow down, to give up.

But we won’t. Not when we know what we’re doing works. Not when we know that commonsense gun laws save lives, and not when we’ve made so much progress passing these laws in Washington state even as federal lawmakers flounder.
