We have an update from Congress, John.

Along with other Democrats on the Oversight Committee, Emily Randall just launched an investigation into Elon Musk’s conflicts of interest across the U.S. government.

Elon Musk makes $8 million a day from contracts with the federal government. [[link removed]] That’s our taxpayer money.

Emily and Ranking Member Gerry Connolly are focusing their investigation on Musk’s dealings with the Department of Transportation (DOT):

• Musk’s company, SpaceX, already had contracts with the government. But now, as head of “DOGE,” he is reportedly steering much larger DOT contracts to SpaceX and Starlink.

• Musk brought in teams from SpaceX to help run the FAA, the airline safety agency, and brought in his own lawyers to run an “investigation” instead of the agency’s official watchdog.

• Musk is trying to redirect a $2.4 billion communications contract the FAA had with Verizon to his own company, Starlink — using his position to sabotage his competitors.

• FAA officials have specifically directed staff to work on a Starlink contract to upgrade airspace technology worth tens of millions of dollars.

Look, there’s nothing “genius” about buying your way into power and using your influence to enrich yourself. That’s corruption. That’s robbery.

As a team, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, like Emily, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, and Rep. Maxwell Frost, are investigating Elon Musk’s conflicts of interest across the government.
