Last Call for Virtual Registration

Real Places 2025 [ [link removed] ] is next week, April 23–25! While in-person registration has closed, there’s still time to register to attend online. Virtual registration will remain open until the conference begins.

The hybrid aspect of Real Places, the world-class programming, and the speakers from across the country make it not only the premier historic preservation and heritage tourism event in Texas, but a conference designed for preservationists everywhere. Since the pandemic, hundreds of people from across the U.S. have attended virtually and many fly to Austin every year because they know Real Places delivers premium content at a great value.

Presented by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission in partnership with Phoenix I Restoration and Construction, LLC, Real Places features varied programming on topics of interest for all the different fields involved in historic preservation—including historic preservation officers, design review board members, architects, engineers, archeologists, curators, interpreters, educators, site managers and staff, heritage tourism professionals, nonprofit staff and volunteers, downtown revitalization specialists, historians, and many more.

Real Places 2025 will livestream more than 45 keynote and breakout sessions on topics that are universal amongst these fields. Some of the sessions focus on preservation projects and case studies in Texas, but all are relevant to communities, organizations, and preservation projects throughout the country.

Virtual attendees can stream all keynote and breakout sessions, and the recordings will be archived for viewing up to 60 days after the conference—there’s no need to fret about missing something because of concurrent sessions.
