The nonstop firehose of horrors coming out of the Trump administration is almost too much to take.

Nearly every hour, there’s some fresh new outrage breaking in the news, each one seemingly more shameless, stupid, cruel, or corrupt than the last.

It’s gotten so bad — so demoralizing — that some would rather tune out than stay engaged in this fight. But that’s exactly how Trump wants us to feel.

So we have a message we want every Common Dreams reader to hear right now: We must not give up, because Donald Trump and his cronies — like all aspiring autocrats before them — can be defeated.

The American people did not sign up for this. No one asked for Social Security to be dismantled. Nobody elected the richest man in the world to take a chainsaw to health research, public education, or environmental protection. Nobody (except all the billionaires) thinks the billionaires need another tax cut.

That’s why Trump’s disapproval ratings skyrocketed by more than 10 points in just over two months. It’s why we’re seeing tens of thousands flock to “Hands Off!” protests and the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour with Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
