Almost 1 million people have now called on the UK government to end new oil and gas drilling in the UK.

Before we join Greenpeace, Global Justice Now, Avaaz and Uplift to hand in our petitions next Wednesday, do you have a minute to add your name and help reach 1 million signatures?

Some of the latest grim reading on the climate crisis revealed that over 400,000 people across Europe were affected by home-wrecking floods and storms in 2024 – the continent’s hottest year on record [1].

But it’s not too late for the world to avoid even greater impacts of climate breakdown if enough countries do their bit.

We think right now we have a genuine opportunity to end new oil and gas drilling in the UK.

The government’s paused making decisions on new oil and gas fields while it examines how to regulate new drilling. It’s asked the public what we think should happen. So, let's ask it to stand on the side of people over the interests of oil and gas bosses.     

This is an amazing opportunity for the UK to show real climate leadership. Let’s make the most of it.
