TOA launches a new communications hub to transform health equity narratives across America.

Dear John,

Today, The Opportunity Agenda proudly announces the launch of Health Equity Works (HEW) – a strategic communications hub designed to change how we talk about racial health equity in America and help advocates swiftly respond to new challenges as they arise.

A Bold Vision When We Need It Most

In today's challenging landscape, where misinformation spreads like wildfire and systemic barriers continue to block progress, we need coordinated action more than ever. A project of The Opportunity Agenda, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, HEW is building a network to collectively build a more inclusive and sustainable public conversation on health equity.

Proactive Communications Support: HEW’s rapid response center will equip advocates with media outreach strategies to counter harmful narratives and address emerging threats effectively.

Enhanced Messaging & Narrative Shaping: HEW's data-driven insights and messaging research will help advocates transform complex health equity concepts into compelling stories that everyone can understand.

Ongoing Resources & Training: From media trainings to crisis communications guidance to a library of sharable resources, HEW will equip advocates with the tools needed to elevate and amplify their communications efforts.

With Health Equity Works, The Opportunity Agenda will work to help elevate the communications strategies needed to drive long-term public narrative shifts on racial health equity. By reshaping these conversations together, we're creating a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive."

- Traci Lester, President of The Opportunity Agenda
