That’s what Head Start does for the U.S. economy. Every dollar our government invests in this essential program returns $7 to $9 by reducing crime, increasing earnings and decreasing social service costs.   

Most importantly, it’s a LIFELINE for low-income families – providing child care, nutritious meals and even medical support.  

Cutting Head Start would be devastating AND nonsensical, but its funding is still at risk. Will you speak up while there’s still time to save it?

Believe it or not, John, 90% of brain development happens before age 5.  

It’s a critical time to nurture kids’ cognitive, emotional and physical growth – a major step toward bridging the achievement gap in low-income communities.  

That makes early learning one of children’s BEST chances at breaking the cycle of poverty.
