📢 Welcome to the second edition of Reform Watch

This is a brand-new newsletter about Reform UK, the first far-right party to win seats in parliament. This means there are now MPs in the House of Commons pushing for mass deportations and cozying up to Donald Trump.

Reform Watch is going to hold Nigel Farage and his party to account. Landing in your inbox every fortnight, it will be the go-to place to learn about what’s going on inside Reform.

🔎 This week’s deep dive: Reform UK say they’re not far right. Nigel Farage even claimed they’ve had the “most in-depth vetting procedure” of any party. Our latest investigation proves otherwise. ([link removed])

Reform UK has been talking a big game about professionalising.

Nigel Farage is keen to show a smarter, more reputable side to his party since it put up racists, extremists and cranks in last year’s general election — including one who praised Hitler.

Reform’s chairman, Zia Yusuf, bragged last week that he now had an “incredible” talent pool. 🤔

A HOPE not hate investigation of the party’s candidates in the upcoming local elections reveals a very different picture. ([link removed])

Our focus this week has been Doncaster, where we identified seven candidates — more than a tenth of the total — whose behaviour raises urgent questions about the suitability of a party seeking to lead the next government.

Do you think it’s right that a Reform candidate like Steve Plater, standing in Adwick-Le-Street and Carcroft, said Muslims “can’t wash off the smell of donkeys”?

Is it OK for a Reform candidate like Gerald Squire, standing in Norton & Askern, to post in support of Tommy Robinson 41 times in 2024? 📲

Is it acceptable for a Reform candidate like Guy Aston, standing in Wheatley Hills & Intake, to repeatedly endorse a conspiracy theory that Jewish families are trying to destroy white people?

Reform wants to win big in Doncaster next month. They want you to think they are a professional party ready for power. Do you believe them?

🕵️‍♂️ This is the first in a series on Reform’s dodgy candidates.
