Democrats just redefined “fast-tracking” as bulldozing transparency on the way to your wallet.

Democrats to Transparency: “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That”
With just days left in the legislative session, Democrats in the Washington State Senate have decided rules are for suckers—blowing past the 24-hour review period that used to give lawmakers and the public a chance to, you know, read
the bills. Senate Dems eagerly axed the pause button, greenlighting a sprint to jam through multi-billion-dollar tax proposals and last-minute policy bombs before anyone notices. Republicans firmly opposed the move, with Sen. Drew MacEwen rightly calling it a misuse of power and a slap in the face to transparency. This isn’t the first stunt either—House Democrats earlier rewrote the rules to silence debate with just a simple majority, because who needs discussion when you’ve got raw numbers? Now, budget bills and pet policies are on the fast track, and the public gets about as much input as a speed bump on I-5. Meanwhile, Republicans are left cleaning up after this legislative joyride, still pushing for actual accountability and public engagement. Unfortunately, the only thing Democrats are speeding toward is more taxes and less trust.

Tax-Happy Dems Meet Angry Wallets
On Tax Day, fed-up Washingtonians flooded the Capitol steps to protest Democrats’ latest brainstorm: nearly $12 billion in tax hikes to cover their $16 billion budget mess—because budgeting is just too hard. From business and capital gains taxes to new sales taxes and tech surcharges, the Democrats seem determined to wring every last cent from taxpayers while roads crumble, schools fail, and crime soars. Meanwhile, Republicans like Reps. Jim Walsh and Chris Corry brought the fire, calling out the absurdity and offering real solutions—like a balanced budget without
gutting everyone’s bank account. As GOP Sen. Chris Gildon pointed out, Republicans have a responsible, tax-free alternative… not that the secretive budget talks will acknowledge it. One lucky protester even won a property tax payoff, but for most Washingtonians, the only “prize” from Democrats is a bigger bill and less freedom. Read more at Center Square.

Democrats Muzzle Parents, Mangle Democracy — But Tell Us Trump’s the Threat
For a party constantly shrieking about “protecting democracy,” Washington Democrats sure have a funny way of showing it. This week, they shut down debate to gut the voter-backed Parents’ Bill of Rights, using a brand-new rule to silence Republicans and bulldoze over a 132-year-old tradition meant to protect minority voices. Why? As KTTH’s Jason Rantz points out, Democrats know their position is wildly unpopular with actual parents—and they can’t afford to let the other side make a compelling case. By slapping on an “emergency clause” to block a voter referendum, Democrats basically told Washington families, you had your say, now shut up.
House Republican Leader Drew Stokesbary called it a dark day for representative government, and he’s right—this was legislative tyranny dressed up as procedure. While Democrats run roughshod over public input, Republicans are the only ones standing up for transparency, accountability, and the people who actually pay the bills. Read more at KTTH.

The Tolerant Left Strikes Again — Literally
A Washington State University instructor and his buddy decided that a student wearing a MAGA hat deserved a beatdown — because nothing says “progress” like punching someone over a red cap. Jay Sani, an Indian-American engineering student and member of conservative student groups, was allegedly attacked by far-left PhD candidate Patrick Mahoney and Gerald Hoff, who reportedly ripped off his hat, shoved him to the ground, and kicked him while he bled on the pavement. All because he dared to support Donald Trump. Mahoney, who lectures on politics while moonlighting as a street thug, told cops he “gave [Sani] a hit” and claimed the student “got what’s coming to him.” This unhinged reaction to a hat reveals the Left’s new definition of tolerance: conform or get stomped. To make it even more ironic, Mahoney has been publicly advocating for “peace” through pro-Gaza activism — apparently unaware that assaulting
classmates doesn’t quite scream diplomacy. Thankfully, both men were arrested and charged, and Mahoney was suspended from his teaching duties. But the bigger question is: how many more unprovoked attacks are going to be brushed off by academia when the victim wears the “wrong” hat? Read more at the Daily Mail.
