Yup… I'm still talking about detox because here we are repeating history once again. And even in the ways we are trying to resist the systems of oppression, I fear we are often replicating the logics of oppression.
Audre Lorde teaches us that "the master tools will never dismantle the master's house". And yet, these tools have become extensions of our bodies. They live in our tissues and in our bones, expressed through our words and actions, and enforced by our fears and insecurities.
Which is exactly why freedom is not just a political pursuit, but a deeply personal one, physiological and biological pursuit that must be addressed at the level of the body.
True healing calls us to confront everything that is in the way of our (personal and collective) wholeness and liberation. It invites us to examine the places where we have denied, neglected, and deprived essential parts of ourselves so that we can recover, repair and reclaim the whole of who we are. It challenges to ask hard questions, challenge old stories, disrupt limiting patterns so that we can open up to new possibilities and potential.
To help us meet this moment with the courage and capacity that it is demanding of us, I am upgrading this year's DETOX HOME RETREAT to include:
1) LIVE movement practices each morning to support your personal journey of detox & recovery
2) LIVE community calls designed to help us translate personal practice into collective action (that inspires us to disrupt, divest, and dismantle the systems we are a part of).
All of this is, of course, supported by an abundance of self-guided tools & resources to bring forth a radical reset.
