The Third Term Project is real, & it’s an open declaration of war on American democracy—whatever that even means anymore. Everything Trümp said he’d do, he’s doing. If American democracy is a ship, she’s taking on water, fast. King T said he wanted a third term, & now the ship is barreling toward the iceberg: the destruction of the 22nd Amendment of the United States Constitution.

This very real intention represents a direct challenge to the foundational principles of American democracy. Spearheaded by Rep. Andy Ogles, this initiative aims to amend the 22nd Amendment & allow a president to serve up to three terms. The proposed change is simple & chilling: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times…” At the 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), attendees were seen distributing Trump 2028 stickers, signaling support for another Trump candidacy despite the constitutional two-term limit.

We’re talking about the systematic erosion of democratic norms, the collapse of checks & balances, & the final, irreversible transformation of the US into a full-fledged authoritarian state—while we, the people, who have sat silently in our comfort zones for so long, who have let our freedom & our social safety net be gutted at our own demise, do nothing.

This isn’t just a fascist playbook anymore. It’s not a guide, a strategy, or a plan. This is no longer hypothetical or hyperbole. It’s real. It’s already happening. This is the record of our failures. Of our complacency. We let billionaires buy our government. We let corporations write our laws. We let a con man install judges, gut institutions, & rewrite the rules in broad daylight.

This isn’t just a power grab—it’s a roadmap to permanent autocracy. Supporters frame it as a return to greatness under King T’s rule. But let’s be honest: this isn’t about country or patriotism or people. It’s about power. It’s about normalizing authoritarianism. It’s about rewriting the rules so King T can legally take what he’s already stolen. This is them vs. us. Billionaires vs. everyone. No matter if you voted red or blue, you’ll be working hand-to-mouth while they hoard everything.

What King T is doing—what his entire movement is designed to do—is to strip the last shreds of power from the people & consolidate it in the hands of the ultra-wealthy. He openly admires dictators. He praises their brutality, their control, their ability to silence dissent. He has no allegiance to the Constitution, to the country, or to anyone but himself & the billionaires who prop him up.

If this sounds like the end of democracy, that’s because it is. But we can still fight. We can still say no.
