[ [link removed] ]We're pushing back against reckless gun laws
John-
A House Committee in the Texas legislature met earlier this week to hear
17 gun bills.
Among the slew of bills that would make Texas less safe, HB 2470 and HB
4201 would theoretically allow an 18 year old student to get a license and
carry on their high school campus.
This comes despite the fact that 3 of the 5 deadliest mass shootings since
2015 have taken place in Texas, including the deadly mass shooting at an
elementary school in Uvalde.
This is what happens when the gun lobby's agenda is carried out in state
legislatures, and this is what we are actively fighting against every
day—at the state level, in Congress, and even at school boards—in all 50
states and D.C. And not just that—we also play an active role in
grassroots organizing and mobilization, supporting Gun Sense Candidates
down the ballot, and so much more. But we need your help:

When we work together, we can achieve huge wins in this fight.
We just secured three major gun safety victories in Colorado, a historic
gun safety victory in Hawai'i, and we also helped a Gun Sense Candidate
defeat her extremist, gun-lobby backed opponent in Wisconsin's Supreme
Court race.
We have volunteers on the ground advocating for stronger gun laws,
educating on gun safety, organizing for Gun Sense Candidates, and fighting
tooth and nail to prevent bills like these from being passed in every
state. But we need your help to give us the fuel we need to be successful
at every level.
[ [link removed] ]John, we can continue to secure victories throughout 2025,
but it's going to take all hands on deck and your generous gift to the
Everytown Action Fund today.
Thanks for playing a crucial role in this movement.
