The targeting of Palestinian activists is escalating. We must speak out — now.

Justice Democrats

Donald Trump’s administration has illegally disappeared another Palestinian activist, John. We have to pay attention to this chilling escalation of fascism in America.

Mohsen Mahdawi is a student organizer and co-founder of the Palestinian Student Union at Columbia University, where he worked to lead pro-Palestine demonstrations demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza.

New York Times headline which reads "Columbia Activist Arrested by ICE at His Appointment for Citizenship". Subhead reads: "Mohsen Mahdawi,a legal permanent resident, has lived in the United States for 10 years and was arrested in Vermont. He has not been charged with a crime.

Mohsen went to an immigration office for what should have been the final step in his citizenship process. Instead, he was illegally arrested by plainclothes officers who refused to explain where they were taking him or what would happen to him.

This is an attack on our right to dissent in a democracy and on immigrant communities. Mohsen is being targeted because he spoke out against genocide — and if they can get away with disappearing him, no one who fights for justice is safe.

Now, it’s time for action. We need a grassroots movement to call for an end to this authoritarianism.
