Friend — Things are quickly hurtling towards dictatorship in the US.

And no, that’s not alarmist. I’m not exaggerating.

Due process is a bedrock principle of our democracy. If you are accused of a crime, you get an opportunity to prove your innocence. You get your day in court.

But the Trump administration has decided that due process doesn’t apply to people they don’t like. Student protesters. People who immigrated here legally. People who have never committed a crime or violated any rules. All now face the potential of being disappeared off the streets by ICE and sent to a mega-prison in El Salvador.

Let me say this clearly as I can: Arresting and jailing people without due process is what dictators do, and if these actions are not blocked we will be on the fast-track to a Constitutional crisis.

The only way we can overcome Trump’s authoritarian politics is with a mass movement in defense of democracy. If Congress and the Courts won’t or can’t act, then We the People must.

We saw just a couple weeks ago at the Hands Off rallies that millions of Americans are ready to take to the streets and protest this administration.

My campaign is committed to keeping up that pressure, spreading the word, and bringing more and more people into this movement.

Voters are already turning against Trump’s administration, because regular folks of all backgrounds and parties know the difference between right and wrong, and this is just plain wrong.
