Today is Election Day in Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, and West Virginia, and we have two candidates on the ballot!

Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) is a longtime Nevada community leader who has spent more than 20 years working to improve the lives of Nevada’s children, women, and homeless families. She became the Founding Director of After-School All-Stars, which benefits over 7,000 students, and served as President of Communities in Schools of Nevada, a leading dropout prevention organization. We were so proud to support Congresswoman Lee in 2018 when she ran for Congress, where she now serves on the House Committee on Education and Labor and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. She is also the Democratic Co-Chair of the Veterans Education Caucus. We need to make sure she keeps her seat in this election as well.

Zahra Karinshak is running for Congress in Georgia’s 7th District. After graduating in the 10th class to accept women at the United States Air Force Academy, she became an Air Force intelligence officer and served during the first Gulf War supporting Operation Desert Storm. She then began her legal career and soon became a federal prosecutor for the Northern District of Georgia, where she prosecuted child predators, sex traffickers, fraudsters, gun smugglers, and other criminals. Now she serves in the Georgia Legislature. We need to send Zahra to the general election in November as the Democratic nominee.
