Last night, Maura joined Ari Melber to talk about Donald Trump’s recent attacks on our higher education system.

Donald Trump has been cutting funding from top research universities across the country, including here in Massachusetts. Maura explained why that’s a direct attack on the American economy.

Our university research system is the best in the world, and much of our country’s scientific advancement is driven by our universities. Trump’s attack on that crucial research funding is a strike directly at our ability to develop cures to deadly diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s. It’s also a major hit to the American economy.

Maura believes in growing jobs and bringing manufacturing back from overseas. But to do that, we need the technological advancement and innovation that our universities create. By taking away their funding and driving them overseas, we’re handing our top researchers, scientists, and innovation to competitors like China.

While Maura is focused on growing our economy and lowering everyday costs, Donald Trump is leveling politically-driven attacks that strike at the heart of our economy.
