We’re now just over halfway through April, so I wanted to take a moment to share what I’ve been working on. But first, can you help fuel my work by chipping in $5 to my campaign today?
I won’t back down when Trump tries to bully California – especially when he tries to cut funding for our schools, libraries, and public health programs; attempts to gut the civil service; or signs unconstitutional executive orders that attack our rights.
I’m working with my partners in the legislature to advocate for legislation to protect us from corporate greed. Senate Bill 763, which I announced with State Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Bakersfield), increases penalties on companies that break antitrust laws – ensuring they can’t rip off hard working families just to pad their profits.
And as California’s top cop, I’m making sure our office is hard at working protecting our communities from those seeking to do harm. That means:
- Arresting and charging people trying to sell illegal firearms,
- Securing up to $335 million from a company that fueled the opioid crisis,
- Protecting Californians from robocall and job recruitment scams.
This work is personal to me. I’ll never stop fighting to protect California families because with everything happening around us, the people need someone on their side.
