Dear John:

If you’re anything like me, tax season means your shoulders haven’t fully relaxed for weeks. But with April 15th behind us, we can take a deep breath and shake it out!

Look, I know that “taxes” and “exciting” don’t look like they belong in the same sentence, but I have some great news for you! Because IGNITE is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, there are tons of ways you can make your next tax season a win for young women in politics.

- IGNITE accepts gifts of stock - your contribution can be the difference that helps a young changemaker attend IGNITE the Capitol for the first time.

- Does your employer have a matching gift program? If so, you can be enjoying tax benefits and doubling your impact on crucial civic engagement campaigns, like IGNITE the Vote.

- DAF holders, this one’s for you! If you commit to spending down half of the money that was in your DAF on January 1st by September 26, 2025, all the grants you make to IGNITE and other nonprofits will be eligible for a match from #HalfMyDAF ([link removed] ) .

- If you are 70.5 or older, you have the option to make a qualified charitable distribution from a taxable IRA rather than take your required minimum distributions. This way, you get tax benefits while investing in future leaders like our Dr. Anne Moses IGNITE Fellows!

Trust me, knowing you’re empowering the next generation of political leaders makes tax season feel so much more productive and positive. And if you have questions, I’d be happy to chat!
