John, it’s Janet Mills, Governor of Maine with an update on my lawsuit against Donald Trump, and I wanted you to hear it from me first:

We just beat Donald Trump in court.

John, I’ve always had respect for the rule of law.

When I visited the White House in February, President Donald Trump chose to single me out in a room full of governors from both parties and threatened to unilaterally withhold federal funding from Maine school children unless we fall in line with his personal demands. When I stood my ground, he claimed he was “the law,” never mind Congress or the states.

I told him I’d see him in court.

Now, after filing our lawsuit against Donald Trump for overreaching his authority and illegally freezing funds that go to feeding children in Maine, a federal judge just ordered the Trump administration to unfreeze them.

I – along with my fellow Democratic governors across the country – will not be intimidated by the President’s threats. We refuse to be bullied. Instead, we’re taking action, pushing back, and winning.

But the work to combat Trump’s dangerous agenda is happening in the states – and we need your help. So I’m asking you to donate $3, or whatever you can today, to help us elect and reelect Dem govs who will fight for our values and stand up to Trump's attacks.
