formal request to defund PBS and NPR. ‼‼

Sources say Congress will receive the official White House request when it
returns to DC …and then all it will take to pass is a simple majority in
the House and Senate.

A vote could happen in mere weeks so if we’re going to save NPR and PBS it
has to be NOW – and we have to act INCREDIBLY fast.

Make no mistake: Trump’s colossal $9.3 billion cut to funding for NPR,
PBS, and the State Department isn't just a budgetary adjustment – it's an
outright assault on the independent voices and public media we hold dear.

But here’s the other thing: Trump’s not stopping there. Over the weekend
he went on an angry tirade because he didn’t like how 60 Minutes was
covering him, calling on the Federal Communications Commission to impose
maximum fines and punishment “for their unlawful and illegal behavior.”

It’s all part of Trump’s plan to completely GUT our independent media. And
it’s straight out of an authoritarian playbook – stifle the truth so the
ONLY source of information people have is from Trump approved sources that
he completely controls.

It’s a chilling reminder why this fight to save NPR and PBS is so
important. Which is why Congress must hear from ALL of us ASAP.
