Dear John,
I’m so frustrated with this Labour Government that is so timid on climate action, yet so radical when it comes to attacking the poor.
At local elections in many parts of England on 1 May, we face the biggest election of 2025 where voters will send an important message to Labour. Voters are angry and there is every danger that Reform UK will be the alternative of choice for far too many voters.
Time and again we hear on the doorstep ‘I’m hacked off with the old parties’ and the only options considered are Reform or the Greens. But without Reform’s mass media coverage, Greens have to win on the doorstep – one voter at a time – and that takes time and costs money. |

Greens have increased our number of elected councillors nearly five-fold in the last 5 elections, thanks to our grassroots organisation - our highly organised community-led network of organisers delivering persuasive leaflets and speaking to voters one by one.
This serious grassroots organisation is limited by how much we can fund.
With 15 days to polling day, I am nervous about what our data is telling us. There are far too many knife-edge campaigns and I urgently need your help to get us over the line.
After the elections, Labour will be reviewing their strategy – do they need to become more like Reform to win votes back or more like the Greens? If you can help me with a gift today, you can help shape the answer for Labour. |
