While 4/20 is a time for celebration, the days leading up to it are a time for action.

That’s because many of our hard-fought gains are under siege. Our political opponents haven’t gone away, they’ve regrouped. This small yet vocal minority is emboldened and they are pushing back.
In Nebraska, our opponents are seeking to gut the state’s voter-approved medical marijuana law. In Ohio, Republican lawmakers are seeking to roll back adults’ freedom to home cultivate cannabis and other rights previously secured by the voters. In Montana, legislators are pushing for new marijuana-related crimes and recriminalizing state-legal cannabis products. In Maryland, politicians are exponentially raising taxes on legal cannabis purchases. And federally, the new administration has yet to follow through on its promise to "work with Congress to pass common sense [marijuana] laws."
Regardless of whether you live in a red or blue state, or in a jurisdiction where cannabis is legal or not, it’s time for cannabis consumers to stand up and assert themselves.
Here are a few easy ways to take action this week and join NORML's fight for cannabis freedom.
Visit NORML's Take Action Center and join the hundreds of thousands of NORML supporters who have contacted their state-elected officials. See marijuana-related legislation pending in your state and send a prewritten message with a few quick clicks.
Tell President Trump it’s time to legalize America. Sign on in support of removing cannabis from the federal Controlled Substances Act and ending federal prohibition once and for all.
Show your support for cannabis freedom all year long when you shop to legalize it in the NORML Store!
Give to NORML today so that we can continue to fight for your freedoms at a time when the cannabis community is increasingly coming under fire.
Now is not the time to become complacent or to presume that marijuana will somehow legalize itself. Change only occurs when advocates agitate for it — and when elected officials fear political consequences for failing to abide by voters’ demands.
We who support legalizing marijuana aren’t part of the ideological fringe. We are the majority. This 4/20, make your voice heard and help NORML end the war on responsible cannabis consumers.
