Friends, Sometimes I feel like I’m living on a different planet. Don’t you? Policies that were once considered radical are becoming mainstream, even in the House of Representatives. This past week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for defunding the NYPD’s $6 billion budget. My opponent Max Rose marched alongside signs that said “Blue Lives Murder,” “Ameri-KKK-a," and protestors that chanted “Defund the Police.” And his “friend“ Ilhan Omar —the one he says he “shares values” with —has called for the complete dismantling of her local police department.

Policies that were once considered radical are becoming mainstream, even in the House of Representatives.

This past week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for defunding the NYPD’s $6 billion budget. My opponent Max Rose marched alongside signs that said “Blue Lives Murder,” “Ameri-KKK-a," and protestors that chanted “Defund the Police.” And his “friend“ Ilhan Omar —the one he says he “shares values” with —has called for the complete dismantling of her local police department.

This is after all three of them voted last month to release convicted murderers and rapists from federal prisons.

This isn’t about politics, this is about our elected representatives not supporting law and order.

Our brave NYPD officers have put their lives on the line to stop rioters from attacking citizens, starting fires, looting stores, and destroying small businesses.

And we have elected officials that want to defund and dismantle our police? Are you kidding me?

We have challenges in our country, but we can fix them together, peacefully. We can disagree on politics and we can disagree on policies, but there is absolutely no room for our leaders to back policies that let violent criminals take over our cities.

When I started running for Congress, it was to preserve the American Dream, create good paying jobs, reform our healthcare, and bring no-nonsense leadership to Washington.
