Updates From Judge O'Hare

The last few weeks have been productive and encouraging here at my office. We have spoken with residents across Tarrant County, and they are heartened to know Tarrant County is cutting waste and prioritizing taxpayers.

Here are some highlights:

Meals on Wheels Deliveries

Dr. Brian Byrd, Local Veteran, and Judge O'Hare

Last month, I had the privilege of delivering meals to Veterans through Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County, along with Public Health Director, Dr. Brian Byrd. The Veterans generously spent a few minutes sharing their life stories with us. If you are looking for somewhere to volunteer, Meals on Wheels does great work in our community.

Arlington Chamber: State of The County

The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce hosted a State of the County Address where we discussed property tax cuts, spending reductions, commitment to law and order, and the incredible people who call Tarrant County home.

As I told the audience, I want to continue to be someone people know they can trust to the tell the truth, and they can trust to look out for their dollars. One thing I will never become is just part of the government.

National Crime Victims' Rights Week

Judge O'Hare with Tarrant County District Attorney's Office Victim Assistance Coordinators

Tarrant County passed a proclamation designating the second week of April as Crime Victims' Rights Week. Providing assistance to crime victims comes from numerous groups working together. From law enforcement, to the District Attorney's Office, to faith organizations, we need everyone serving with compassion and competence throughout the entire process.

The District Attorney’s Office hosted a ceremony observing this important week. The stories I heard from victims, including testimonies of how well Tarrant County’s DA Victim Assistance Coordinators served those victims, were encouraging and a stark reminder that evil exists in this world. Tarrant County is dedicated to assisting victims of crime.

Statement From Judge O’Hare on Accepting Ten Commandments Monument for Courthouse Lawn

I released the following statement on April 15, 2025:

"Today, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court accepted a generously donated Ten Commandments Monument from The American History & Heritage Foundation, Inc. (AHHF) to place on the 1895 historic Courthouse lawn. AHHF exists to educate and inform citizens about American history and heritage. This timely action during Holy Week honors our nation’s rich history and enduring traditions. This Monument will stand as a reminder that Biblical principles and America’s founding are inextricably intertwined.

A similar Monument stands on the Texas State Capitol grounds and has for decades. We are unaware of any other county in Texas that displays a Ten Commandments Monument. I encourage all Texas counties to follow suit.

We hope everyone has a Happy Easter. Further details on the dedication ceremony will be forthcoming."

Upcoming National Day of Prayer Luncheon

This weekend, we all get to focus on the beauty of the gospel. As we move toward Good Friday and Easter, I pray each of us reflects on the sacrifice of Jesus and the hope we have only because of His resurrection.
