Tell Congress: Stand up for our freedoms and bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home >>
John, the Trump administration has abducted a Maryland father named Kilmar Abrego Garcia – and now they’re ignoring the Supreme Court’s ruling to bring him back home. If they get away with this, no American’s rights are safe.
Abrego Garcia is a beloved husband and father whose family hasn’t been able to contact him since he was taken without due process on March 15th and sent to an El Salvador prison that’s notorious for human rights abuses. [1]
Now, Trump is ignoring a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court ruling to bring him home – trampling over Abrego Garcia’s humanity, the Constitution, and all our rights in the process.
Trump and his enablers think they can tear families apart and silence anyone who doesn’t look, live, or love the way they do. We need to make it clear that any member of Congress who doesn’t treat this like the crisis it is is failing at their job, plain and simple.
John, if you believe in justice, dignity, and the rule of law, it’s time to speak out. Tell Congress to fight for constituents like us and bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home >>
Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s abduction isn’t an isolated incident – it’s a window into a terrifying future where due process means nothing, the law is optional, and people can be disappeared on Trump’s whim.
Abrego Garcia has no criminal record, has lived in Maryland for nearly 15 years, and has been granted protection from deportation by a court since 2019. [2]
Trump’s officials already admitted in court their actions were illegal, but instead of righting this wrong, they’re doubling down – and openly exploring deporting U.S. citizens the same way. [3]
John, this is a test. These would-be dictators want to see how far we’ll let them go in abducting people, ignoring courts, and dismantling civil liberties – and whether anyone will stop them.
Some members of Congress, like Abrego Garcia’s home state Senator Chris Van Hollen, are already committing to traveling to El Salvador to help bring him home [4], but we need a national outcry. Every one of us who values our freedoms and the rule of law must demand action.
We need to work together to protect our freedoms and demand an immediate end to these abductions. Tell Congress to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home.
Thanks for all you do,
The team at Common Cause
