Dear Friends,
We have an important issue that needs action right now. Can't wait for the=
Friday Message. Here's what's happening.
HB2197, Brent Money's bill to provide equal protection to unborn babies has=
been referred to the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by Re=
p. John Smithee. We have been told that the bill would be in public hearin=
g NEXT WEEK, and we've been planning and preparing for that.
Now we are receiving mixed signals about the hearing. But time is running =
short for the House to consider and pass House bills, and it really can't w=
ait. So we need to press Chair Smithee to schedule HB2197 for a public hea=
ring as soon as possible.
Here's how YOU can help:
Call/Email/Write (or all 3) to Rep. Smithee's office asking him to keep HB2=
197 on the hearing schedule for Tuesday 4/22, or schedule it as soon as pos=
sible.

The message is simple: state that you=E2=80=99re requesting a hearing for H=
ouse Bill 2197 relating to the protection of an unborn child's rights and c=
riminal liability and justification for prohibited conduct, in the Criminal=
Jurisprudence Committee. Put it in your own words, but that's the intent o=
f the bill.
Current laws acknowledge that unborn babies are considered "persons", but t=
hey provide loopholes for mothers who kill their babies through elective ab=
ortions. HB2197 would close those loopholes.=20
Please help us convince Chair Smithee to schedule HB2197 for a public heari=
ng. This bill is an important step toward protecting the unborn and complet=
ely abolishing abortion in Texas. It is one of our TTP priorities and we su=
pport it.
I've already asked you to prepare to support and testify on this bill next =
Tuesday. Let's start calling and convince Rep. Smithee to keep it on the sc=
hedule.

HB2197, Brent Money's bill to provide equal protection to unborn babies has been referred to the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by Rep. John Smithee. We have been told that the bill would be in public hearing NEXT WEEK, and we've been planning and preparing for that.
Now we are receiving mixed signals about the hearing. But time is running short for the House to consider and pass House bills, and it really can't wait. So we need to press Chair Smithee to schedule HB2197 for a public hearing as soon as possible.
Here's how YOU can help:
Call/Email/Write (or all 3) to Rep. Smithee's office asking him to keep HB2197 on the hearing schedule for Tuesday 4/22, or schedule it as soon as possible.

Current laws acknowledge that unborn babies are considered "persons", but they provide loopholes for mothers who kill their babies through elective abortions. HB2197 would close those loopholes.
Please help us convince Chair Smithee to schedule HB2197 for a public hearing. This bill is an important step toward protecting the unborn and completely abolishing abortion in Texas. It is one of our TTP priorities and we support it.

HB2197, Brent Money's bill to provide equal protection to unborn babies has been referred to the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by Rep. John Smithee. We have been told that the bill would be in public hearing NEXT WEEK, and we've been planning and preparing for that.
Now we are receiving mixed signals about the hearing. But time is running short for the House to consider and pass House bills, and it really can't wait. So we need to press Chair Smithee to schedule HB2197 for a public hearing as soon as possible.
Here's how YOU can help:
Call/Email/Write (or all 3) to Rep. Smithee's office asking him to keep HB2197 on the hearing schedule for Tuesday 4/22, or schedule it as soon as possible.

The message is simple: state that you’re requesting a hearing for House Bill 2197 relating to the protection of an unborn child's rights and criminal liability and justification for prohibited conduct, in the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee. Put it in your own words, but that's the intent of the bill.
Current laws acknowledge that unborn babies are considered "persons", but they provide loopholes for mothers who kill their babies through elective abortions. HB2197 would close those loopholes.
Please help us convince Chair Smithee to schedule HB2197 for a public hearing. This bill is an important step toward protecting the unborn and completely abolishing abortion in Texas. It is one of our TTP priorities and we support it.
I've already asked you to prepare to support and testify on this bill next Tuesday. Let's start calling and convince Rep. Smithee to keep it on the schedule.
