Water supply for millions of Americans threatened by latest EPA

Tell the EPA to Leave the Clean Water Act Alone

The EPA intends to weaken protections for our streams,
wetlands, and other vital waterways, endangering communities
across the country. Tell them to stop prioritizing industrial
polluters and protect clean water.

Dear NRDC Activist,

EPA head Lee Zeldin has already announced staggering plans
to repeal or weaken dozens of crucial standards that protect
public health, defend clean air and water, and address the
climate crisis.

And here's his latest attack: At the behest of industrial
polluters, the EPA intends to radically restrict protections for
our waterways and wetlands — protections that were already
weakened by the Supreme Court.

NRDC is prepared to fight back against this senseless
attack on clean water, our environment, and our health — and this
time, there's an opportunity for you to weigh in too. The EPA is
inviting public comments on this dangerous proposal — but only
until April 23. That means right now we need your help to rally a
massive public outcry.

Tell the EPA not to weaken protections for waters that help
provide safe, clean drinking water, prevent community flooding,
and safeguard wildlife habitat. ( [link removed] )

Access to clean water is a fundamental human right — no
matter your race, income, or zip code. And our waterways are so
interconnected that any weakening of federal protections for
wetlands and streams anywhere will have a profound impact on
clean water nationwide — and defeat the purpose of the Clean
Water Act.

Under the guise of aligning federal policy with 2023's
disastrous Supreme Court Sackett decision, the EPA is moving
toward adopting an extreme interpretation of the already extreme
ruling — one that will accelerate water pollution, increase flood
risks, and degrade drinking water sources for millions of
Americans.

We know that wetlands protect communities from flood damage
and filter pollutants from our waterways, and we also know that
this slew of attacks is like nothing we've ever seen. It's all
part of the Project 2025 agenda to dismantle our environmental
protections as we know them.

But NRDC has been fighting to protect clean water and
wetlands for the last 50 years, and we'll keep fighting to
protect them no matter who's in the White House.

Submit your public comment now telling the EPA to stop
their reckless attack on clean water, before it's too late. ( [link removed] )

Right now is the best chance we have to save our waterways
and all who depend on them. Thank you for fighting alongside us.

Sincerely,

Jon Devine
