Medicaid helps millions of people across the country access health care—including reproductive health care like birth control, STI screenings, cancer screenings, prenatal and postpartum care, and more.
Medicaid is essential for making sure people across the country are able to get the care they need, which is why it's so popular and over 80% of Americans, across the political spectrum, oppose cuts to the program.
So why would Republicans go after it? First off, because they don't care about our health or well-being—they only care about control. Republican cuts to Medicaid will push birth control and other reproductive health care out of reach for millions of people—a move straight out of their Project 2025 playbook.
Second, they want to enrich billionaires with obscene tax giveaways. But the only way to pay for it is to gut Medicaid.
