On April 1st, the U.S. Coast Guard deported 98 Haitians who were trying to reach a Turks and Caicos Island by boat. Once again, sending them to Cap-Haitien, a city that is feeling unprecedented pressure and is unable to absorb these new arrivals. Deportees are given $50 to return home, however with the main roads controlled by the gangs, most decide to remain in the north, some relocating in the Gros Morne community where our partners are stepping up an emergency response program.
Goal:
Distribute $225 over 6 months to 200 families who are unable to pay for food, clothing, medical care or housing. We thank you for your support. |
