Celebrating Bill Signings

🎥 Welcoming Film Festivals to Colorado

To support the Sundance Film Festival’s historic move to Colorado and the many other film festivals that call Colorado home, I signed HB25-1005 - Tax Incentive for Film Festivals.

Last month, alongside the Sundance Institute and others, I announced that Colorado was selected to be the new home of the Sundance Film Festival starting in 2027.

💍Protecting Coloradans’ Freedoms and Building a Colorado for All

I am thrilled to have signed SB25-014 - Protecting the Freedom to Marry. The bill repeals language in the Colorado Constitution that bans same-sex marriage.

Colorado is for everyone, no matter who you are or who you love. Last November, the voters got rid of outdated language in our constitution that banned same-sex marriage. This is a long overdue step in the right direction and this law ensures that Coloradans can marry who they love in our Colorado for all.

⚖️ Improving Public Safety in Colorado

I signed SB25-003 - Semiautomatic Firearms & Rapid-Fire Devices, SB25-059- Supports for State Response to Mass Shootings, and SB25-151 - Measures to Prevent Youth from Running Away. I am focused on improving public safety and making Colorado one of the top ten safest states in the country.

SB25-003 ensures that our Second Amendment rights are protected and that Coloradans can continue to purchase the gun of their choice. I am confident that this bill contributes to improving public safety in our state by helping to ensure an educated and trained gun owner community.

I visited Colorado Springs and Pueblo to celebrate Colorado’s nation-leading aerospace industry, and Colorado’s efforts to save people money, improve public safety, and strengthen the state’s workforce.

I attended the 2025 Space Symposium conference highlighting Colorado's leadership in the aerospace sector and spoke with industry and business leaders from around the world.

Did you know?
  • Colorado is first in the nation for the concentration of aerospace jobs, and second nationally for total aerospace employment with more than 55,000 employees at over 2,000 Colorado aerospace companies.
  • Colorado is home to key national security space missions, including U.S. Space Command, U.S. Space Force Space Operations Command, and the majority of operational U.S. Space Force deltas as well as NORAD, where members of the Canadian Armed Forces are stationed.
  • In 2024, Colorado exported $500 million in aerospace, spacecraft and related parts, accounting for roughly 4.8% of all Colorado exports.
In honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, I visited Safe Passage, an accredited Children Advocacy Center in Colorado Springs that gives abused children and adults a voice and enables the healing process.

While highlighting Colorado’s leadership in workforce development, I met with participants in Southern Colorado Partners Leading Advancement in Nursing Track (PLANT) at CSU-Pueblo, an Opportunity Now program that trains nurses to serve 15 counties in Southern Colorado. I also met with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) members in Pueblo who are working to help Coloradans file taxes for free and take advantage of tax credits that save people money.

Colorado has been selected to host the 2026 National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) Annual Meeting, bringing 55 bipartisan lieutenant governors and seconds-in-command from across the country to Denver in July 2026. The gathering will spotlight Colorado’s leadership in innovation, economic development, and impactful policy—all guided by the vision of building a Colorado for All.

Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera presented Colorado’s winning bid at the 2025 NLGA Spring Business Meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, where she joined colleagues from across the country to engage in dialogue on pressing policy issues including energy, infrastructure, and workforce development.
