Europe Charts a Course for Sustainable Recovery from COVID-19 

The European Union has announced plans to set aside 25% of a proposed €750 billion ($826 billion) coronavirus recovery proposal for climate-friendly measures such as building retrofits, clean energy, electric vehicles and sustainable land use. If a recovery package like the proposal goes through, it could be the most significant green investment in history. Bonus points: it will create 1 million new jobs. 3 Steps to Scaling Up Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Adaption 

On Java, Indonesia’s most populous island, more than 30 million people suffer from coastal flooding and erosion driven by bigger storms and sea-level rise. There is hope: an ambitious mangrove restoration project is protecting villages while trapping carbon that drives climate change. Around the world, communities are deploying such nature-based solutions to adapt to climate impacts.
