Team, Donald Trump’s enabling of DOGE and Elon Musk is a catastrophe for our nation.
When DOGE started infiltrating federal agencies, I went to the Environmental Protection Agency offices in Washington with several of my colleagues to demand answers about their illegal takeover and gutting of critical clean air and water protection programs.
They refused to let our group of lawmakers into the building. They promised to speak with us, but never did.
And in the time since this incident, we have seen the situation spiral even further out of control.
USAID? Gone. Department of Education? Dismantled. National Institutes of Health? Gutted. Tens of thousands of federal workers fired. Budgets for crucial programs and services slashed to nothing. And the list goes on. All unconstitutional. All at the expense of regular Americans.
And once they're done with federal agencies, Republicans have made it clear their next target for cuts will be Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Trump and his billionaire friends are wreaking havoc on our government to make themselves even richer. It’s time to fight for our futures, not lay down and do nothing.
That’s why I plan to put a hold on Trump nominees and use my vote in the Senate to vote No on his future judicial and agency nominees while he defies the law and our nation’s constitution. My question for you is: Will you have my back as I make this important push?
