As a barefoot endurance athlete, I’ve always strived to run for a reason.

This year, I’m running the London Marathon barefoot in aid of Survival. Will you help me reach my goal of £10,000?

If you’ve been part of this movement for some time, you might remember our fundraiser in 2020. I teamed up with Survival and completed the Three Peaks Challenge in the UK barefoot, breaking not only athletic records but also exceeding my wildest dreams by raising almost £8,000 for Indigenous rights.

Three years later, when Survival was mobilizing their supporters for the global Move for Survival fundraiser, I joined them in asking people to get out and move, raising money for their vital campaigns.

Five years on, you can probably tell I’m a serial fundraiser for this charity. Since then, Survival has won multiple campaigns alongside Indigenous peoples, and is fighting hard on many others – from Indonesia to Kenya and Peru.

Their work is so close to me personally: as a natural lifestylist, I can’t look away when Indigenous peoples, the best guardians of nature in the world, see their lands invaded, their families evicted, and their livelihoods destroyed.

All of us who follow Survival’s work share the same passion. That’s why we also have to believe in the power of community fundraising. Through it, we spread the word to our family, friends and colleagues, inspiring them to act and support Indigenous rights globally.

But as fundraisers, we’re also the reason Survival can reject all government funding, defending Indigenous rights no matter who's in power.
