It’s no secret that Kansans are anxious about the future right now. We’re worried about the state of our democracy, the safety of our families, and the long-term future of Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare.

I’ve heard from so many folks who are fed up with what they’re seeing in Washington — and they’ve asked me what they can do to bring about real progress.

Here’s what I’ve told them: Get involved in any way you can. Because every single one of us has the power to use our voices, put the pressure on our leaders in government, and demand change.

That could mean sharing your concerns with friends, neighbors, and coworkers. It could mean picking a cause and organizing folks in your community around it. It could mean protesting out in the streets, just as we saw across the country earlier this month. And it could even mean running for office yourself.

Listen, I understand that the challenges we’re up against are very, very real, and the future we’re committed to building may seem out of reach. But we’ve made it through tough times before, and I know we can do it again. I promise that I will not sit on the sidelines in this fight for Kansas’ future, and I’m asking you to do the same.
