Susan Collins dodged President Trump’s visit to Maine last week — but she can’t do anything to hide her voting record.
We know she voted with Trump 94 percent of the time in Congress, consistently supports his right-wing judicial nominees like Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, and voted in favor of his tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and corporations.
Mainers deserve a senator who will stand up to Trump, not vote with him when it counts and then hide when he visits our state.
That’s why it’s so important that we elect Sara Gideon to the U.S. Senate — and why I have to ask:
Collins is only trying to distance herself from Trump because her approval ratings are plummeting. It’s all just political theater.
At the end of the day, she’ll always have his back — so we have to replace her in the Senate.
