With just five weeks to go until the May 20, primary election, the race for Philadelphia District Attorney is shaping up to be a victory for incumbent Larry Krasner.
The two-term progressive prosecutor’s challenger is GOP-endorsed Patrick Dugan.
And this week, Krasner’s campaign released a poll showing him leading Dugan among likely donors by 37 percentage points: 58% for Krasner to 21% for Dugan, with 19% of voters undecided.
Here are just a few of the reasons why Larry is leading by such a commanding margin:
Philadelphia last year saw a historic decline in homicides.
The police union hasn’t made an endorsement.
Much of the political attention this spring is on President Trump, whom Krasner has for years vocally opposed.
Here’s the problem: Dugan just announced that he’s going on TV with a significant ad buy, and big-money interests are set to flood Philadelphia with negative ads lying about Larry’s record.
