White House renews promise to defend Christianity in US during Holy Week
President Donald Trump and the White House vowed to continue fighting for religious liberty and protecting Christianity within the United States in recognizing the start of Holy Week on Palm Sunday.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump joined Christians across the nation in remembering Holy Week, the historic event in the Bible when Jesus Christ arrived in Jerusalem before dying on Good Friday and rising from the dead three days later. The president cited Holy Week as a time of reflection for Christians regarding the sacrifice Jesus made before His resurrection.
“In His final hours on Earth, Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, torture, and execution on the cross out of a deep and abiding love for all His creation,” the White House’s statement read. “Through His suffering, we have redemption. Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life. On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light prevails over darkness—signaling that death does not have the final word.”
As part of the White House’s remembrance of Holy Week, the administration promised to continue protecting the Christian faith across the nation’s institutions, including schools, workplaces, and the government.

US Strips Benefits From Thousands of Criminal Aliens, Those on Terror Watchlist
The Trump administration has ended temporary immigration parole and revoked federal benefits for thousands of foreign nationals flagged as national security risks, part of a broader effort to roll back immigration programs implemented under the Biden administration.
According to White House officials, more than 6,300 individuals who were paroled into the United States during or after 2023 were identified as having criminal records or were listed in the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database. Their parole was terminated as of April 8.
As part of the enforcement action, the Social Security Administration reclassified those individuals’ Social Security numbers into its Ineligible Master File, a restricted database that prevents improper payment of federal benefits. Formerly known as the Death Master File, the system is used to ensure that only lawfully eligible individuals can access programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, and other federally administered aid.
Immigration parole allows certain noncitizens to temporarily enter and remain in the United States and to receive work authorization and Social Security numbers if granted parole for more than one year.

‘Most Shocking Pieces Of Poll Data’: CNN’s Harry Enten Rattles Off Slew Of Good Polls For Republicans
CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said on Friday that Republicans are gaining more popularity with the American public following President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
New polling found that Democrats and Republicans are tied 33% to 33% on the question of who “cares more for the needs of people” for the first time in over 30 years, according ([link removed] ) to a post-tariff Quinnipiac poll. Democrats historically held a double digit lead over Republicans on that question going all the way back to 1994, when the party led on that question by 19 points.
“This to me is the most shocking pieces of poll data that I truthfully have seen this year, maybe in any prior year,” Enten said. “Because I want you to take a look, ‘cares more for the needs of people like you.’ You mention we’ve got a tie even after this whole tariff war had already started, split between Democrats and Republicans about people feel which party cares more for needs of people like you. And why is that so surprising? Because I want you to take a look at prior years. Democrats always lead on this question.”
“Back in 2017, before the 2018 midterms, a 13-point lead,” Enten continued. “[In] 2005, a 23-point lead for Democrats, [in] 1994 which was a big Republican year, a 19-point lead for Democrats and now all of a sudden a tie? All of a sudden the Democrats, who are the party of the people, no more! No more. We’ve got a tie on this question that has traditionally overwhelmingly been [a] Democratic advantage.”
