Dear John,

The Department of Education is a vital government agency that measures student achievement, provides support for students with disabilities and low-income students, and helps students access financial aid.

Now, the Trump Administration wants to shut down this entire agency.

This will disproportionately impact students with disabilities and working families. President Trump is about to dismantle the agency and ruin our educational system.

Well, only Congress has the authority to abolish a federal agency, and I will never stop fighting for students in this country. My Democratic colleagues and I are committed to defending this vital agency and our kids’ futures.
